The Influence of the Norman Invasion on Anglo Saxon Garden Design The Anglo-Saxon way of life was dramatically changed by the appearance of the Normans in the later eleventh century. Most of the freestanding statues were of young, winsome male or female (kore) Greeks and are known as kouros figures.
