Keeping Your Garden Wall Fountain Clean
Keeping Your Garden Wall Fountain Clean
Water fountains will last a long time with routine cleaning and maintenance. Leaves, twigs, and insects very often find their way into fountains, so it is important to keep yours free from such debris. On top of that, algae can be a challenge, because sun hitting the water allows it to form quickly. Either sea salt, hydrogen peroxide, or vinegar can be mixed into the water to eliminate this issue. Bleach can also be dissolved into the water, but this is not the ideal option because it can harm birds or other animals. No more than three-four months should go by without an extensive cleansing of a fountain. Before you can start washing it you should empty out all of the water. Then use mild soap and a soft sponge to clean inside the reservoir. A good tip is to use a toothbrush if there are small hard-to-reach spots. Do not leave any soap deposit inside or on the fountain.
It is highly suggested taking the pump apart to better clean the inside and eliminate any plankton or calcium. Letting it soak in vinegar for several hours first will make it alot easier to clean. Neither rain water nor mineral water contain ingredients that will accumulate inside the pump, so use either over tap water if possible.
Finally, be sure to have a quick look at your fountain every day and add water if you notice that the level is low. Permitting the water level to get too low can cause damage to the pump - and you certainly do not want that!
A Smaller Garden Space? You Can Have a Water Feature too!
A Smaller Garden Space? You Can Have a Water Feature too! Since water is reflective, it has the effect of making a small spot appear bigger than it is. Dark materials increase the refractive properties of a fountain or water feature. If your purpose is to highlight your new feature at night, underwater lights in various colors and shapes will do the trick. Solar powered eco-lights are excellent during the day and submerged lights are perfect for nighttime use. Natural therapies use them because they exude a soothing effect which helps to relieve stress as well as anxiety. Your backyard vegetation is a fantastic area to incorporate in your water feature. Your pond, artificial river, or fountain is the perfect feature to draw people’s attention. The versatility of water features is that they can be set up in large backyards as well as in small verandas. The atmosphere can be significantly altered by placing it in the best place and using the proper accessories.
