When and Where Did Water Features Originate?
When and Where Did Water Features Originate? Hundreds of classic Greek texts were translated into Latin under the authority of the scholarly Pope Nicholas V, who ruled the Roman Catholic Church from 1397 to 1455. In order to make Rome deserving of being the capital of the Christian world, the Pope decided to embellish the beauty of the city. Reconstruction of the Acqua Vergine, a ruined Roman aqueduct which had transported fresh drinking water into the city from eight miles away, began in 1453 at the behest of the Pope. A mostra, a monumental dedicatory fountain constructed by ancient Romans to mark the point of arrival of an aqueduct, was a practice which was restored by Nicholas V. The Trevi Fountain now occupies the area formerly filled with a wall fountain crafted by Leon Battista Albert, an architect employed by the Pope. The aqueduct he had refurbished included modifications and extensions which eventually enabled it to supply water to the Trevi Fountain as well as the famed baroque fountains in the Piazza del Popolo and the Piazza Navona.Bernini’s First Italian Fountains

Modern Wall Elements
Modern Wall Elements
Wall elements are an ideal option if the space you occupy is more modern in appearance. If you want to enhance your modern-day decor, think about adding one made of stainless steel or glass. Is the floor space in your home or office scarce? A wall water fountain is perhaps the best option for you. They take up no space since they are hung on a wall. Busy entryways in commercial buildings are often decorated with one of these kinds of fountains. Interior spaces are not the only places to hang a wall fountain, however. Think about using fiberglass or resin for your exterior wall water feature. Use water fountains made of these weather-proof materials to liven up your garden, patio, or other outdoor space.
Wall fountains can be made in a variety of different styles ranging from contemporary to classic and provincial. Your design ideas determine the most appropriate kind for your needs. A mountain lodge might require a conventional material such as slate whereas a high rise apartment might require sleek glass to enliven the interior space. It is up to you to choose the right material for you. There is no doubting the fact that fountains are features which impress visitors and add to your quality of life.
