"Primitive" Greek Artwork: Large Statuary

"Primitive" Greek Artwork: Large Statuary The first freestanding sculpture was developed by the Archaic Greeks, a recognized success since until then the only carvings in existence were reliefs cut into walls and columns. Most of these freestanding sculptures were what is known as kouros figures, statues of young, attractive male or female (kore) Greeks. Thought of by Greeks to characterize splendour, the kouroi were created into inflexible, forward facing poses with one foot outstretched, and the male statues were usually nude, well-built, and fit. In about 650 BC, the variations of the kouroi became life-sized. A massive era of modification for the Greeks, the Archaic period helped bring about newer forms of state, expressions of artwork, and a greater appreciation of people and cultures outside of Greece. But these disputes did not prohibit the expansion of the Greek civilization. {

Keep Your Wall Water Fountain Clean

Keep Your Wall Water Fountain Clean Water fountains will last a very long time with routine cleaning and maintenance. A typical problem with fountains is that they tend to gather dirt and debris, so it is vital that you keep it free from this. Additionally, anywhere light from the sun mixes with still water, algae can form. Either sea salt, hydrogen peroxide, or vinegar can be dissolved into the water to prevent this problem. Another option is to mix bleach into the water, but this action can harm wild animals and so should really be avoided.

No more than three-four months should go by without an extensive cleaning of a fountain. The first step is to get rid of all of the water. Then use mild soap and a soft sponge to clean the interior of the reservoir. A helpful tip is to use a toothbrush if there are little hard-to-reach spots. Do not leave any soap deposits inside of or on the fountain.

Make sure you get rid of any calcium or plankton by taking the pump apart and cleaning the inside properly. Letting it soak in vinegar for several hours first will make it much easier to clean. Build-up can be a big headache, so use mineral or rain water over tap water, when possible, to prevent this dilemma.

And finally, make sure the water level is always full in order to keep your fountain working smoothly. If the water level slides below the pump’s intake level, it can hurt the pump and cause it to burn out - something you don't want to happen!
