Rome’s First Water Delivery Systems

Rome’s First Water Delivery Systems Rome’s very first elevated aqueduct, Aqua Anio Vetus, was built in 273 BC; prior to that, citizens residing at higher elevations had to depend on natural springs for their water. Outside of these aqueducts and springs, wells and rainwater-collecting cisterns were the lone technological innovations readily available at the time to supply water to areas of higher elevation. Starting in the sixteenth century, a brand new system was introduced, using Acqua Vergine’s subterranean segments to generate water to Pincian Hill. Pozzi, or manholes, were made at regular stretches along the aqueduct’s channel. Even though they were originally designed to make it possible to support the aqueduct, Cardinal Marcello Crescenzi started using the manholes to accumulate water from the channel, opening when he purchased the property in 1543. Reportedly, the rainwater cistern on his property wasn’t adequate to meet his needs. Via an orifice to the aqueduct that ran under his property, he was able to reach his water desires.

Even a living space with a contemporary look can be improved with a wall fountain. Stainless steel or glass are two of the materials used to make modern-day types which add a stylish element to your interior design. Is space limited in your house or place of work? The ideal option for you is a wall water fountain. They take up no room since they are placed on a wall. Commercial buildings with busy lobbies commonly have one of these fountains. Inside spaces are not the only places to hang a wall fountain, however. Fiberglass or resin wall water features can be used outdoors. Back yards, patios, or other outdoor spaces needing a stylish touch should include a water fountain made of one of these weather-proof materials.

Wall fountains can be manufactured in a wide array of different styles ranging from contemporary to classic and provincial. The type most suitable for your living space depends entirely on your personal design ideas. A mountain lodge might require a traditional material such as slate whereas a high rise apartment might need sleek glass to liven up the interior space.
