Keeping Your Water Wall Fountain Tidy
Keeping Your Water Wall Fountain Tidy
Water fountains will last a long time with scheduled cleaning and maintenance. A typical problem with fountains is that they tend to accumulate dirt and debris, so it is vital that you keep it free from this. Another factor is that water that is subjected to sunlight is vulnerable to growing algae. Stir hydrogen peroxide, sea salt, or vinegar into the water to avoid this particular issue. Some people opt for adding bleach into the water, but the problem is that it harms wildlife - so it should be avoided. No more than 3-4 months should really go by without an extensive maintaining of a fountain. First off you must remove the water. Then use a soft cloth and gentle cleanser to scrub the inside. If there are any small grooves, work with a toothbrush to get every spot. Do not leave any soap deposit in or on the fountain.
Various organisms and calcium deposits can get inside the pump, so it is best to take it apart and clean it thoroughly. Letting it soak in vinegar for a few hours first will make it much easier to clean. Build-up can be a big problem, so use mineral or rain water over tap water, when possible, to prevent this dilemma.
And finally, make sure the water level is consistently full in order to keep your fountain working optimally. Allowing the water to reach below the pump’s intake level, can cause serious damage and even make the pump burn out - an undesired outcome!
The Godfather Of Rome's Water Features

Also a city builder, he had capabilities as a water feature designer, and marks of his life's work are apparent throughout the roads of Rome. Bernini's father, a renowned Florentine sculptor, mentored his young son, and they ultimately moved to Rome, in order to fully express their art, primarily in the form of public water fountains and water features. An exceptional workman, Bernin received praise and the the backing of popes and well known painters. Originally he was recognized for his sculpting skills. Working gracefully with Roman marble, he used a base of expertise in the historical Greek architecture, most notably in the Vatican. Though he was influenced by many, Michelangelo had the most serious impact on him, both personally and professionally.
