A Chronicle of Garden Fountains
A Chronicle of Garden Fountains Pope Nicholas V, himself a well educated man, governed the Roman Catholic Church from 1397 to 1455 during which time he commissioned many translations of old classic Greek documents into Latin. In order to make Rome deserving of being the capital of the Christian world, the Pope resolved to embellish the beauty of the city. In 1453 the Pope commissioned the rebuilding of the Aqua Vergine, an historic Roman aqueduct which had carried fresh drinking water into the city from eight miles away. A mostra, a monumental commemorative fountain built by ancient Romans to mark the point of entry of an aqueduct, was a practice which was revived by Nicholas V. The architect Leon Battista Alberti was directed by the Pope to build a wall fountain where we now see the Trevi Fountain. The aqueduct he had refurbished included modifications and extensions which eventually allowed it to supply water to the Trevi Fountain as well as the famed baroque fountains in the Piazza del Popolo and the Piazza Navona. The Results of the Norman Invasion on Anglo Saxon Landscaping

Setting Up and Maintaining Landscape Fountains
Setting Up and Maintaining Landscape Fountains A very important first step is to consider the dimensions of the outdoor wall fountain with regards to the area you have available for it. It is essential that the wall where you are going to put it is strong enough to support its load. Therefore for smaller areas or walls, a light fountain is going to be more suitable. An electric socket near the fountain is required to power the fountain. Most outdoor wall fountains include simple, step-by-step instructions according to the type of fountain.Generally, when you purchase an outdoor wall fountain, it will come in an easy-to-use kit that will include all the information needed to install it correctly. The kit provides a submersible pump, hoses as well as the basin, or reservoir. The basin, if it's not too big, can easily be concealedin your garden among the plants. Once fitted, wall fountains typically only require some light upkeep and regular cleaning.
Replenishing and purifying the water on a consistent basis is very important. It is important to quickly clear away debris such as leaves, twigs or other dreck. In addition, your outdoor wall fountain should not be subjected to freezing winter weather conditions. In order to avoid any damage, such as cracking, from freezing water during the cold winter season, move your pump inside. Simply put, your outdoor fountain will be around for many years to come with the correct care and maintenance.
