A Chronicle of Wall Fountains

A Chronicle of Wall Fountains The translation of hundreds of classical Greek documents into Latin was commissioned by the learned Pope Nicholas V who led the Church in Rome from 1397 till 1455. In order to make Rome deserving of being the capital of the Christian world, the Pope decided to enhance the beauty of the city. Restoration of the Acqua Vergine, a desolate Roman aqueduct which had transported fresh drinking water into the city from eight miles away, began in 1453 at the behest of the Pope. The ancient Roman tradition of building an awe-inspiring commemorative fountain at the location where an aqueduct arrived, also known as a mostra, was revived by Nicholas V. The architect Leon Battista Alberti was directed by the Pope to construct a wall fountain where we now see the Trevi Fountain. The water which eventually provided the Trevi Fountain as well as the famed baroque fountains in the Piazza del Popolo and Piazza Navona came from the modified aqueduct which he had renovated.

What Are Landscape Fountains Created From?

What Are Landscape Fountains Created From? Though they come in various materials, today’s garden fountains tend to be made of metal. Metallic ones offer clean lines and unique sculptural accents and can accommodate nearly any decorative style and budget. It is essential that your landscape design reflects the style of your residence.

Today, a lot of people favor copper for their sculptural garden fountains. Copper is appropriate for many fountain styles, including tabletop and cascade water fountains, and can be put inside or outside - making it a great option. Copper is also adaptable enough that you can select a range of styles for your fountain, from contemporary to whimsical.

Also popular, brass fountains typically have a more old-fashioned appearance to them versus their copper counterpart. Brass fountains are often designed with unique artwork, so they are popular even if they are a bit conventional.

The most modern metal right now is probably stainless steel. A modern steel design will quickly raise the value of your garden as well as the feeling of peacefulness. As with all fountains, you can find any size you need.Landscape Fountains Created From? 113844033159811.jpg
