The Source of Modern Fountains
The Source of Modern Fountains Pope Nicholas V, himself a learned man, ruled the Roman Catholic Church from 1397 to 1455 during which time he commissioned many translations of old classical Greek texts into Latin. Beautifying Rome and making it the worthy capital of the Christian world was at the center of his objectives. Beginning in 1453, the ruined ancient Roman aqueduct known as the Aqua Vergine which had brought fresh drinking water into the city from eight miles away, underwent restoration at the behest of the Pope.
The Many Designs of Wall Fountains

There are two specific styles of fountains you can buy: mounted and free-standing. Mounted wall fountains are small and self-contained variations which can be placed on a wall. Fountains of this type need to be lightweight, therefore, they are typically made of resin (resembling stone) or fiberglass. In large free-standing fountains, otherwise referred to as wall fountains, the basin is set on the ground with the smooth side positioned against a wall. Normally made of cast stone, these water features have no weight limitations.
It is a good idea to integrate a customized fountain into a new or existing wall, something often recommended by landscape experts. The basin and all the required plumbing are best installed by a qualified mason. You will need to incorporate a spout or fountain mask into the wall. A custom-built wall fountain blends into the landscape instead of standing out because it was a later addition, which adds to a unified appearance.
The Subtle Charm of the Water Wall Fountain

Even a living space with a contemporary style can be improved with a wall fountain. If you want to enhance your modern-day decor, consider adding one made of stainless steel or glass. Does your home or workplace have a small amount of space? A wall water fountain is most likely the best option for you. Since they are mounted on a wall you can save your priceless real estate for something else. Corporate buildings with busy lobbies oftentimes have one of these fountains. You can also put up wall fountains outdoors. Outdoor wall water features can be constructed of fiberglass or resin. Back yards, terraces, or other outdoor spaces needing a stylish touch should include a water fountain made of one of these waterproof materials.
Wall fountains can be found in a range of distinctive styles, ranging from ultra-sleek to traditional and rustic. You can choose the best style based upon your personal preferences. A mountain lodge might require a traditional material such as slate whereas a high rise apartment might need sleek glass to liven up the interior space. Your own decoration plans determine the material you select. No doubt however, fountains are sure to add to your quality of life and impress your visitors.
