Your Outdoor Wall Fountain: Upkeep & Routine Service
Your Outdoor Wall Fountain: Upkeep & Routine Service An important first step before installing any outdoor wall feature is to consider the space you have available. It is essential that the wall where you are going to put it is strong enough to support its weight. Therefore for smaller areas or walls, a light fountain is going to be more appropriate. An electric socket near the fountain is needed to power the fountain. There are many different types of fountains, each with their own set of simple, step-by-step directions. Generally, when you purchase an outdoor wall fountain, it will come in an easy-to-use kit that will include all the needed information to install it correctly.
The kit contains a submersible pump, hoses as well as the basin, or reservoir. If the size is average, the basin can be concealed among your garden plants. Once your wall fountain is installed, all that is required is consistent cleaning and some light maintenance.
Replenishing and purifying the water on a routine basis is very important. Remember to clear away debris like leaves, twigs or dirt as quickly as possible. Additonally, outdoor fountains should always be shielded from freezing temperatures in wintertime. Your pump may break when exposed to freezing water during the wintertime, so it is best to bring it indoors to prevent any damage. All in all, an outdoor wall fountain can last for any number of years with proper upkeep and cleaning.
Statues As a Staple of Classic Art in Ancient Greece
Statues As a Staple of Classic Art in Ancient Greece
The first freestanding statuary was improved by the Archaic Greeks, a notable achievement since until then the sole carvings in existence were reliefs cut into walls and columns. For the most part the statues, or kouros figures, were of young and attractive male or female (kore) Greeks. The kouroi, viewed as by the Greeks to exemplify beauty, had one foot extended out of a rigid forward-facing posture and the male statues were always nude, with a powerful, strong physique. Around 650 BC, life-sized models of the kouroi began to be seen. Throughout the Archaic period, a big time of change, the Greeks were evolving new sorts of government, expressions of art, and a greater understanding of people and cultures outside Greece. But in spite of the issues, the Greek civilization continued to progress, unabated.
