Original Water Delivery Techniques in The City Of Rome

Original Water Delivery Techniques in The City Of Rome Rome’s 1st raised aqueduct, Aqua Anio Vetus, was built in 273 BC; prior to that, people living at higher elevations had to rely on natural springs for their water. Over this period, there were only two other techniques capable of delivering water to higher areas, subterranean wells and cisterns, which amassed rainwater. Beginning in the sixteenth century, a brand new approach was introduced, using Acqua Vergine’s subterranean sections to generate water to Pincian Hill. Pozzi, or manholes, were engineered at standard intervals along the aqueduct’s channel. Although they were originally manufactured to make it possible to service the aqueduct, Cardinal Marcello Crescenzi started using the manholes to gather water from the channel, commencing when he bought the property in 1543. It appears that, the rainwater cistern on his property wasn’t adequate to meet his needs. That is when he made the decision to create an access point to the aqueduct that ran beneath his residential property.

Augmenting the reflective aspects of a fountain or water feature are possible by using dark materials. If your intention is to showcase your new feature at night, underwater lights in various colors and shapes will do the trick. The sun is essential to power eco-lights during the day time while underwater lights are great for night use. The comforting effect produced by these is oftentimes used in nature therapies to alleviate anxiety and stress.
