Keeping Your Garden Wall Fountain Tidy
Keeping Your Garden Wall Fountain Tidy Adequate care and regular upkeep are important to the longevity of water fountains. It is essential to clean it out and take out any debris or foreign objects that might have fallen into or onto it. Another factor is that water that is exposed to sunlight is prone to growing algae. To prevent this, take vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, or sea salt and add right into the water. Bleach can also be dissolved into the water, however this is not the ideal option as it can harm birds or other animals.Every 3-4 months, garden fountains should go through a serious cleaning. Before cleaning, all the water must be removed. Next use gentle and a soft sponge to clean inside the reservoir. A good tip is to use a toothbrush if there are little hard-to-reach spots. Be sure to completely rinse the inside of the fountain to make sure all the soap is gone.
Make sure you get rid of any calcium or plankton by taking the pump apart and scrubbing the inside properly. To make it less strenuous, soak it in vinegar overnight before cleaning. Neither rain water nor mineral water contain ingredients that will collect inside the pump, so use either over tap water if possible.
Finally, be sure to have a quick look at your fountain every day and add water if you notice that the level is low. Low water levels can ruin the pump - and you do not want that!
