The First Modern Wall Fountains

The First Modern Wall Fountains Pope Nicholas V, himself a learned man, reigned the Roman Catholic Church from 1397 to 1455 during which time he commissioned many translations of ancient classic Greek documents into Latin. He undertook the embellishment of Rome to turn it into the worthy capital of the Christian world. Beginning in 1453, the ruined ancient Roman aqueduct known as the Aqua Vergine which had brought clean drinking water into the city from eight miles away, underwent restoration at the behest of the Pope. The ancient Roman tradition of building an imposing commemorative fountain at the location where an aqueduct arrived, also known as a mostra, was revived by Nicholas V.First Modern Wall Fountains 3374759561801806298.jpg The architect Leon Battista Alberti was directed by the Pope to build a wall fountain where we now see the Trevi Fountain. The aqueduct he had refurbished included modifications and extensions which eventually enabled it to supply water to the Trevi Fountain as well as the renowned baroque fountains in the Piazza del Popolo and the Piazza Navona.

Backyard Fountains A Definition

Backyard Fountains A Definition The description of a water feature is a large element which has water flowing in or through it. There is a broad array of such features ranging something as simple as a hanging wall fountain or as elaborate as a courtyard tiered fountain. Known for their versatility, they can be included either inside or outdoors. Water elements include ponds and pools as well.

Living spaces such as extensive yards, yoga studios, relaxing verandas, apartment balconies, or office settings are great places to add a water feature such as a garden wall fountain.
