The Broad Array of Outdoor Wall Fountains
The Broad Array of Outdoor Wall Fountains Having a wall fountain in your garden or on a veranda is excellent when you seek to relax. Moreover, it can be designed to fit into any wall space since it does not take up much room. A spout, a water basin, internal piping, and a pump are necessary for freestanding as well as mounted types. Traditional, contemporary, antique, and Asian are just a few of the styles from which you can choose.Usually quite large, freestanding wall fountains, also referred to as floor fountains, have their basins on the floor.
It is possible to integrate a wall-mounted water feature onto an already existent wall or built into a new wall. Incorporating this type of water feature into your landscape adds a cohesiveness to the look you want to achieve rather than making it seem as if the fountain was merely added later.
The History of Wall Fountains
The History of Wall Fountains The translation of hundreds of classical Greek documents into Latin was commissioned by the scholarly Pope Nicholas V who led the Church in Rome from 1397 till 1455.
In order to make Rome worthy of being the capital of the Christian world, the Pope resolved to enhance the beauty of the city. Starting in 1453, the ruined ancient Roman aqueduct known as the Aqua Vergine which had brought clean drinking water into the city from eight miles away, underwent repair at the behest of the Pope. A mostra, a monumental commemorative fountain constructed by ancient Romans to mark the point of arrival of an aqueduct, was a custom which was restored by Nicholas V. The Trevi Fountain now occupies the area formerly filled with a wall fountain built by Leon Battista Albert, an architect commissioned by the Pope. The Trevi Fountain as well as the renowned baroque fountains found in the Piazza del Popolo and the Piazza Navona were eventually supplied with water from the modified aqueduct he had rebuilt.
