Water Transport Solutions in Early Rome
Water Transport Solutions in Early Rome Rome’s first elevated aqueduct, Aqua Anio Vetus, was built in 273 BC; before that, inhabitants living at higher elevations had to rely on natural springs for their water. During this time period, there were only 2 other technologies capable of supplying water to high areas, subterranean wells and cisterns, which amassed rainwater. From the beginning of the sixteenth century, water was routed to Pincian Hill by way of the subterranean channel of Acqua Vergine. During its initial building and construction, pozzi (or manholes) were placed at set intervals along the aqueduct’s channel. The manholes made it easier to maintain the channel, but it was also possible to use buckets to extract water from the aqueduct, as we witnessed with Cardinal Marcello Crescenzi when he owned the property from 1543 to 1552, the year he passed away. Even though the cardinal also had a cistern to amass rainwater, it couldn't produce a sufficient amount of water. Through an opening to the aqueduct that ran under his property, he was able to reach his water needs.
Can Outdoor Wall Fountains Help Purify The Air?
Can Outdoor Wall Fountains Help Purify The Air? An otherwise boring ambiance can be livened up with an indoor wall fountain. Putting in this sort of indoor feature positively affects your senses and your general health.
The science behind this theory supports the idea that water fountains can positively impact your health. The negative ions produced by water features are countered by the positive ions emitted by present-day conveniences. Undeniable positive changes in mental and physical health occur when negative ions overpower positive ions. A rise in serotonin levels is felt by those who have one of these water features making them more alert, serene and lively. Due to the negative ions it produces, an indoor wall fountain can improve your spirits and also eliminate impurities in the air. Water features also help in eliminating allergens, pollutants among other sorts of irritants. Finally, these fountains absorb dust particles and micro-organisms in the air thereby influencing your general well-being for the better.
