Choose from Many Exterior Wall Fountain Designs
Choose from Many Exterior Wall Fountain Designs Wall fountains are well suited to little verandas or yards because they do not require too much space while also adding a touch of style and providing a great place to find peace and quiet.
The two kinds of fountains available to you include mounted and stand-alone models. Small, self-contained mounted wall fountains can be hung on any surface. Typically made of resin (to look like stone) or fiber glass, these kinds of fountains are lightweight and easy to hang. In large stand-alone fountains, otherwise known as wall fountains, the basin is set on the ground with the flat side positioned against a wall. Water features such as these are ordinarily made of cast stone and have no weight limitations.
Custom-made fountains which can be incorporated into a new or existing wall are often recommended by landscaping designers. The basin and all the necessary plumbing are best installed by a qualified mason. The wall will have to have a spout or fountain mask incorporated into it. The cohesive look produced by custom-made wall fountains make them appear to be part of the landscape rather than an afterthought.
Aspects of Outdoor Sculpture in Archaic Greece
Aspects of Outdoor Sculpture in Archaic Greece Up until the Archaic Greeks created the 1st freestanding sculpture, a phenomenal success, carvings had chiefly been accomplished in walls and pillars as reliefs. For the most part the statues, or kouros figures, were of young and desirable male or female (kore) Greeks. The kouroi, regarded by the Greeks to exemplify beauty, had one foot stretched out of a strict forward-facing posture and the male figurines were always undressed, with a compelling, strong build. Life-sized versions of the kouroi appeared beginning in 650 BC. The Archaic period was tumultuous for the Greeks as they evolved into more sophisticated forms of government and art, and gained more information about the peoples and cultures outside of Greece.
