From Where Did Water Features Emerge?

From Where Did Water Features Emerge? The translation of hundreds of classical Greek documents into Latin was commissioned by the learned Pope Nicholas V who led the Church in Rome from 1397 until 1455. Beautifying Rome and making it the worthy capital of the Christian world was at the heart of his objectives. At the bidding of the Pope, the Aqua Vergine, a ruined aqueduct which had transported clean drinking water into Rome from eight miles away, was restored starting in 1453. The ancient Roman custom of building an awe-inspiring commemorative fountain at the point where an aqueduct arrived, also known as a mostra, was resurrected by Nicholas V. The architect Leon Battista Alberti was directed by the Pope to put up a wall fountain where we now see the Trevi Fountain. The aqueduct he had reconditioned included modifications and extensions which eventually enabled it to supply water to the Trevi Fountain as well as the renowned baroque fountains in the Piazza del Popolo and the Piazza Navona.

Presently, copper is quite common for sculptural garden fountains. Copper is common for both inside and outside use and is frequently found in tabletop and cascade fountains, among others. If you opt to go with copper, your fountain can be any style from fun and whimsical to cutting-edge.

If your style is more conventional, a brass water fountain might be perfect for you. Brass fountains are frequently designed with unique artwork, so they are popular even if they are a bit conventional.

Perhaps the most cutting-edge of all metals is stainless steel. Adding a modern-looking steel design will immediately add value to your garden and elevate the overall mood. Just like other water features, they come in an array of sizes.

For people who want the visual appeal of a metal fountain but want a lighter weight and more affordable option, fiberglass is the answer. The cleaning of fiberglass water fountains is quite simple, so they have many advantages that people appreciate.
