The Dissemination of Water Feature Design Technology
The Dissemination of Water Feature Design Technology Throughout Europe, the principal means of dissiminating useful hydraulic information and fountain design ideas were the circulated papers and illustrated publications of the time, which contributed to the evolution of scientific development. An unnamed French water feature developer became an internationally celebrated hydraulic innovator in the late 1500's. With imperial commissions in Brussels, London and Germany, he began his career in Italy, acquiring expertise in garden design and grottoes with built-in and imaginative water hydraulics. He authored a book named “The Principles of Moving Forces” towards the conclusion of his life while in France that came to be the basic book on hydraulic technology and engineering. Describing the latest hydraulic technologies, the publication furthermore modernized critical hydraulic advancements of classical antiquity. As a mechanized method to shift water, Archimedes invented the water screw, chief among important hydraulic discoveries. Sunlight heated up the liquid in two undetectable vessels adjacent to the ornamental fountain were displayed in an illustration. What occurs is the hot liquid expanded, rises and closes up the piping heading to the water fountain, consequently leading to activation. Designs for pumps, water wheels, water attributes and outdoor ponds are also covered in the publication.
When and Where Did Water Features Originate?
When and Where Did Water Features Originate? Hundreds of classic Greek documents were translated into Latin under the authority of the scholarly Pope Nicholas V, who led the Roman Catholic Church from 1397 to 1455. He undertook the beautification of Rome to make it into the worthy seat of the Christian world. In 1453 the Pope instigated the rebuilding of the Aqua Vergine, an ancient Roman aqueduct which had carried clean drinking water into the city from eight miles away. Building a mostra, a grandiose commemorative fountain built by ancient Romans to memorialize the arrival point of an aqueduct, was a custom revived by Nicholas V. At the bidding of the Pope, architect Leon Battista Alberti began the construction of a wall fountain in the place where we now find the Trevi Fountain. The Trevi Fountain as well as the well-known baroque fountains found in the Piazza del Popolo and the Piazza Navona were eventually supplied with water from the modified aqueduct he had reconstructed.
