The water screw, a mechanical means to move water, and invented by Archimedes, was featured in the book. An ornamental spring with the sun warming the liquid in two vessels concealed in a nearby area was shown in one illustration. The heated liquid expands and subsequently ascends and closes the water pipes consequently activating the fountain. The publication also covers garden ponds, water wheels, water feature concepts.
