Bernini: The Master of Italy's Greatest Water Fountains
The Barcaccia, a beautiful water fountain constructed at the base of the Trinita dei Monti in Piaza di Spagna, was Bernini's earliest fountain. To this day, this area is filled with Roman locals and tourists alike who enjoy debate and each other's company. The streets neighboring his water fountain have come to be one of the city’s most stylish gathering places, something which would certainly have pleased Bernini himself. In about 1630, the great artist designed the first water fountain of his career at the behest of Pope Ubano VIII. Illustrated in the fountain's design is a large ship slowly sinking into the Mediterranean Sea. According to 16th century texts, a great flood of the Tevere covered the entire area in water, an event which was commemorated by the magnificent fountain. Absenting himself from Italy only once in his life for a long-lasting period of time, in 1665 Bernini voyaged to France.

"Primitive" Greek Artwork: Large Statuary
"Primitive" Greek Artwork: Large Statuary
The Archaic Greeks manufactured the first freestanding statuary, an awesome achievement as most sculptures up until then had been reliefs cut into walls and pillars. Most of the freestanding statues were of young, winsome male or female (kore) Greeks and are called kouros figures. Regarded as by Greeks to embody beauty, the kouroi were formed into rigid, forward facing positions with one foot outstretched, and the male statues were always nude, brawny, and fit. In around 650 BC, the differences of the kouroi became life-sized. The Archaic period was turbulent for the Greeks as they evolved into more sophisticated forms of government and art, and obtained more data about the peoples and societies outside of Greece. Equivalent to other times of historical conflict, disputes were common, and there were battles between city-states like The Arcadian wars, the Spartan invasion of Samos.
The Multiple Styles of Wall Water Fountains
The Multiple Styles of Wall Water Fountains You can find peace and quiet when you add a wall fountain in your garden or patio. You can have one made to fit your specifications even if you have a minimum amount of space. Both the stand alone and mounted types need to have a spout, a water basin, internal tubing, and a pump. You have many models to a lot to pick from whether you are in search of a traditional, modern, classical, or Asian style.
Freestanding wall fountains, otherwise known as floor fountains, are relatively big and feature a basin on the ground.
On the other hand, a water feature attached to a wall can be integrated onto an existing wall or built into a new wall. A unified look can be realized with this style of water feature because it seems to become part of the scenery rather than an added element.
