The History of Garden Fountains
The History of Garden Fountains Hundreds of classic Greek texts were translated into Latin under the authority of the scholarly Pope Nicholas V, who led the Roman Catholic Church from 1397 to 1455. He undertook the embellishment of Rome to make it into the model seat of the Christian world. Restoration of the Acqua Vergine, a desolate Roman aqueduct which had carried clean drinking water into the city from eight miles away, began in 1453 at the behest of the Pope. Building a mostra, a grandiose commemorative fountain built by ancient Romans to memorialize the arrival point of an aqueduct, was a tradition revived by Nicholas V. The Trevi Fountain now occupies the area previously filled with a wall fountain built by Leon Battista Albert, an architect commissioned by the Pope. Modifications and extensions, included in the restored aqueduct, eventually supplied the Trevi Fountain and the well-known baroque fountains in the Piazza del Popolo and Piazza Navona with the necessary water supply.

Some gardeners are drawn to natural herbs which can easily be cultivated inside the house and out and are suitable in a variety of cooking techniques. Natural herbs are very simple to grow indoors or outdoors and offer near-instant pleasure, they are used in marinades, sauces, soups and other fantastic dishes. An herb garden is easy to maintain with minimum daily care, and planter gardens and potted herbs can be easily moved inside once autumn frosts begin, making it possible to maintain an herb garden all year long. If you are thinking of adding perennial herbs to your back garden, you are making a good choice because they don't die easily or need replanting after every year passes. Your flavor and texture preferences in cooking with herbs are key considerations in choosing which herbs to grow. It is worthwhile to plant herbs that you will use. If you love to cook Latin food, you will undoubtedly use cilantro. If you like Italian food, you should decide to plant basil, oregano, and thyme. It is essential to determine where your herbs will be planted in order to decide which herbs will thrive. If you live in a gentle climate it may be better to plant right into the ground due to the warmer winters and cool summers. This makes your yard look striking without the problem of making or buying planters. Plants often die or become inactive because of exposure to the extreme weather.
