The Countless Possibilities in Wall Fountains
The Countless Possibilities in Wall Fountains Placing a wall fountain in your backyard or patio is ideal when you want to relax. Additionally, it can be designed to fit into any wall space since it does not occupy much room. Both the stand alone and mounted types need to have a spout, a water basin, internal tubing, and a pump.
There are many different types available on the market including traditional, fashionable, classical, or Asian. Freestanding wall fountains, otherwise known as floor fountains, are noticeably big and feature a basin on the ground.
On the other hand, a water feature attached to a wall can be integrated onto an existing wall or fit into a new wall. This type of fountain contributes to a cohesive look making it seem as if it was part of the landscape instead of an added feature.
How Technical Concepts of Water Fountains Spread
How Technical Concepts of Water Fountains Spread Throughout the European countries, the primary means of spreading practical hydraulic understanding and fountain design ideas were the circulated pamphlets and illustrated publications of the day, which added to the evolution of scientific development. An internationally renowned leader in hydraulics in the later part of the 1500's was a French water fountain designer, whose name has been lost to history. With imperial commissions in Brussels, London and Germany, he began his work in Italy, developing know-how in garden design and grottoes with built-in and clever water features. In France, near the end of his life, he wrote “The Principle of Moving Forces”, a publication which became the essential text on hydraulic technology and engineering. Describing the latest hydraulic technologies, the book furthermore modified key hydraulic discoveries of classical antiquity. Dominant among these works were those of Archimedes, the creator of the water screw, a mechanized method of transferring water. Two undetectable containers warmed by the sun's rays in a room next to the decorative fountain were presented in an illustration. The end result: the water fountain is stimulated by the heated liquid expanding and ascending up the pipelines. Pumps, water wheels, water attributes and garden pond designs are covered in the publication.
