Keep Your Outdoor Water fountain Clean
Keep Your Outdoor Water fountain Clean Water fountains will last a very long time with routine cleaning and maintenance. Leaves, twigs, and bugs very often find their way into fountains, so it is vital to keep yours free from such debris. Additionally, anywhere light from the sun comes in contact with still water, algae can develop.
A complete cleaning every 3-4 months is ideal for garden fountains. First you must remove the water. Then use gentle and a soft sponge to clean the interior of the reservoir. Feel free to use a toothbrush if necessary for any tiny crevasses. Any soap residue that remains on your fountain can harm it, so be sure it is all rinsed off.
Make sure you get rid of any calcium or plankton by taking the pump apart and washing the inside properly. Soaking it in vinegar for a bit will make it easier to clean. If you want to remove build-up in your fountain, use rain water or mineral water versus tap water, as these don’t contain any ingredients that might stick to the inside of the pump.
And finally, make sure the water level is continuously full in order to keep your fountain running optimally. If the water level drops below the pump’s intake level, it can hurt the pump and cause it to burn out - something you do not want to happen!
